Chiesa patronale di San Siro

Nel 1460 la chiesa patronale di Castelletto Monferrato era dedicata a Santa Caterina. La nuova chiesa parrocchiale venne eretta nel 1714, fu riedificata nel 1771 insieme al campanile e venne benedetta nell'anno 1781. Facciata classicheggiante rivolta a nord, in cemento dipinto a finto marmo e finiture in ordine ionico. Nel 1921 fu realizzata la Grotta di Lourdes con relativo altare e nel 1928 fu sovrapposta una nuova facciata alla precedente in cotto. La decorazione pittorica dell'interno fu realizzata a cavallo del 1900. La volta a cupola è affrescata con un cielo stellato incorniciato da una balconata tonda mentre l’altare maggiore e la balaustrata sono in marmi policromi. In una nicchia nell'abside è posta la statua principale di S. Siro (sec. XVIII). I due altari laterali sono neoclassici; quello del Sacro Cuore ha una pala di autore ignoto raffigurante i Ss. Sebastiano, Caterina d'Alessandria e Rocco (sec. XIX) mentre in una nicchia sottostante l'altare si trova una statua di Cristo morto (fine sec. XIX). In un’altra nicchia è collocata la statua della Madonna del Rosario, contornata da piccoli tondi in stucco coi Misteri dipinti mentre sul tabernacolo è posto il Bambino di Praga.

Church of San Siro: in 1460 the patronal church of Castelletto Monferrato was dedicated to Santa Caterina. The new parish church was built in 1714, was rebuilt in 1771 together with the bell tower and was blessed in 1781. Classical north-facing façade, in concrete painted in sham marble and finishes in Ionic order. In 1921 the Grotto of Lourdes with its altar was built and in 1928 a new façade was superimposed on the previous one in terracotta. The interior was painted at the beginning of 1900. The domed vault is frescoed with a starry sky framed by a round balcony while the main altar and the balustrade are made of polychrome marbles. In a niche in the apse is placed the main statue of S. Siro (XVIII century). The two lateral altars are neoclassical; the one of the Sacred Heart has an altarpiece of unknown author depicting the Ss. Sebastiano, Caterina d'Alessandria and Rocco (XIX century) while in a niche below the altar there is a statue of Christ dead (end of XIX century). In another niche is placed the statue of Our Lady of the Rosary, surrounded by small round stuccoes with the Mysteries painted while on the tabernacle is placed the Child of Prague.
